A.A.S.K. Services is currently the only rescue organization in Vulcan county that is actively on the streets, assisting strays and ferals with nourishment, medication when required and outdoor accomodations. We provide shelter, care and nourishment to abandoned, abused and homeless companion animals within the area of Vulcan County. Via our policies, we seek new homes for the animals through the use of promotions, media, internet, networking and any other such opportunity that arises to promote adoptions. In 2001, Heather Hazen, Founder of the service, saw a crucial need for a group of dedicated people to set examples in helping rural animals, after a disturbing, intentional case of animal abuse that involved the R.C.M.P. - within her county village. Education and empathy, are required to offer protection of unwanted or lost animals, globally. Our main goal has been to attend to the immediate health care required of those we take in, so that we may better their health prior to spaying or neutering. The focus of our work has always been to reach as many animals as possible with the resources available to us, the percentage being cats moreso than dogs, due to the regularity of strays' breeding patterns. We unfortunately only reach a small number of abandoned animals in time to help them, due to our own limitations. Basing our beginnings on these facts, we also realized that every community has residents who love animals and there are those within their rights, who don't. Due to these rights on behalf of all parties, frustrations within a community, can and do - divide communities. 
We encourage pet owners to detain their pets in compromise with those who did not wish animals on their properties. Efforts were made to educate pet owners their responsibilities in Spaying and Neutering of their pets so as to better control populations and unwanted animals. We also made efforts at compromise so that pet owners could better understand their pets and their needs - to hinder frustrations of pet owners, nulifying their desire "to get rid of" their pets. We met up with many obstacles, suffered vandalism and rejection, but this did not stop us, instead, it proved just how badly the society was needed and how animals and responsible pet owners needed help. Due to court battles caused by those who hindered our mission and preferred to terminate and euthanize animals to be "rid of them", we fought even harder to stay afloat and nurtured compassions of those who cared and of those who were devestated by the loss of their animals. ŠTattoo-Find was invented and brought to reality by our Founder as a means of bringing awareness to Spaying and Neutering Pets, as well as serving as an additional means of assisting pet owners retrieve lost pets - faster. This service comes at a one time "sponsor fee" whereupon the name, picture, contact information and alteration tattoo number remain on the listing year after year at no additional cost! We are presently working on our workshops for People with Animal Assisted Programs We opened ourselves to Memberships (join up!) so that we could hear out other's opinions and thoughts and so that the public could play an active and participating role in the votes and activity! /| Read our Bylaws and Mission Statement for more info! |\  PLUS, to make things more interesting for loving pet owners, we opened a mini mall with Animal Related Products!
