About Sam and "his family".
Colage of Sam's Finding with Siblings
The above beauty is Moonface.
Moon is the mother of Sam and his siblings, brought into the retreat with her kittens (late 2003).
The colage is an ensemble of Moon's kittens on the first day they were seen, beneath a mobile home where she had hid them well for some time.

Here Sam is seen with his one and only sister - Sassy. (a program animal) Both were quite tiny and as seen in the picture, Sassy's head was considerably large in comparison to her body due to malnurishment. Both were approx 4-5 wks old and took well to the rice pablum and watered down carnation mix they were given on site.
Sept 2003 Sam and 15 others were captured and brought in at the same time. All had been living together and tending to each other.
This picture from Dec/03, shows a more filled out Sam as opposed to what he looked like when he came into the shelter almost 4 months prior.
October 2003 - 6 weeks after arrival To the Left: Oct. 2003: Sam(son) is seen with his brother Boots - 6 weeks after being sheltered - both were still quite thin, but had very little symptoms of virus. Being less stressed by this time, here seen sitting on the stairs to the attic being renovated to allot for more usable space. (see Creative Corner)
To the Right: apr 05: Sam and Boots are still a team together, looking much more relaxed, people friendly, healthy, comfy and having a siesta in their bed
April 2005 - 18 months after arrival
