Boots, known for his white boots on all 4 legs, is fondly known to us in the programs, as "Booters".

Booters is a casual soul who plays "mother hen" to the other program animals. He literally goes around checking everyone, smelling their ears and eyes to make sure they are cleaned and up to par. He's a content soul, who more than often, you'll find laying with others or by himself, purring away all by his lonesome. IF by chance, someone is giving attention to any of the others and they are purring, well, Booters just has to come and see what all the contentment is about, so he can get in on the action. And, while on his way to see what's going on, he's purring already - tail straight up - proud as can be. (he even sleeps like that at times too). When Booters was born, he was a healthy kitten but unfortunately, being on the streets for his first 4 months before we could place him (and 15 others that were part of his small colony) Booters got sick. When we brought in the colony of 16 cats, Booters required attention. He was thin, he had an infestation of ear mites, fleas and all were contracting rhinotractitis - a form of distemper. It was a night mare and within 5 months, two of the crew died. Boots was lucky, he came home. The pictures below, show just what kinda shape Boots was in shortly after he was brought into the shelter. Boots was approximately 6 months old at the time.

To the Left: Nov. 2003: Boots is seen with his brother Sam - 6 weeks after being sheltered - both were still quite thin, but there were no other symptoms of virus. Both were less stressed by this time and feeling more at home, here seen sitting on the stairs to the attic being renovating to allot for more usable space. (see Creative Corner) To the Right: apr 05: Boots and Sam are still a team together, healthy, comfy and having a siesta in their bed

The colage of Booters shows Boots as a 5-6 week old kitten, outdoors where he was born and being raised with 4 other siblings ( 3 brothers and 1 sister we named Sassy).
