Stray Kittens Boots(orange) and Sassy(gray)!Kittens Boots(left) and Sassy(right)
... were 2 of 5 kittens within the same litter, living under a mobile home. The little gray and white is sister to the 4 orange male kittens, born to a beautiful illusive tortoise (orange and black) female we named "Moonface".
These kittens were approximately 6 weeks old in this picture and were quite healthy considering that we later removed corpses of other cats, who had lived and died under this mobile.
We'd been observing the illusive momma cat, realizing she was pregnant and made plans to capture her and her babes once we knew how many there were and what exactly we had to deal with.

This picture is of the first time we got to see these guys. We removed a wood panel off the siding and placed glass panes to lure them to the light.
Notice the tire and other garbage that was around the area.

This colage of Boots, shows a healthy kitten in 2 of the smaller pictures (to the left taken June 2003) where this beautiful white socked furkid was living. Not a pretty picture, but this fleeting yet curious young male was so full of life!
The larger picture of Boots in Nov. 2003, shows a recovering Boots.
By the time we managed to find a place and rescue him with his family, they'd been living outdoors, under a mobile home for almost 5 months after birth and got very sick into the 4th month.
We managed to scoup the crew in mid September and it took "Booters" here till late novemeber, to finally recover.

Visit Sassy Girl below!
Sassy (to the left) june 2003: is the tiny grey and white (with the big head) seen with her sidekick brother - Ginger (Boots is in the background) . She was malnurished (that's why her head was big compared to her body) but she was all heart. This is where I'd come to feed her and her 4 brothers, amongst the garbage that surrounded them. I placed the one inch wood so they could sit off the ground.
Nov/03: approx. 6 months old - in the shelter: Sassy is curled up with her keeper - Serenity - one of three black long haired brothers that literally babysat Sassy and her four brothers when I wasn't around. The brothers were approx. 2 months older than Sassy and her brothers but they knew the ropes better and kep an eye on the babies. Notice how, even months later, Serenity has his paw just touching Sassy, so if she were to move or something were to happen, he'd know immediately.
