Teens and Animals make for some of the finest situations. This has been proven in past experiences with Montreal Street Kids, with the youth in the county in which we are located, that has a curfew bylaw for teens under the age of eighteen years of age to be indoors by ten p.m. - and we hope to affiliate our programs with other associates in the near future. Our programs and workshops involve a concept we wish to Patend so as to encourage others to follow suit. We will tell you that our agenda involves a variety of real life issues, art, the animals and other criteria that keeps teens involved and off the streets! We're hoping to be able to house a few teens that show an interest in their future as opposed to life on the streets - and while some kids are fearful of losing their independance or reject adult figures in their lives, most teens, when shown sincere concern and given choices, will make the right choice. Teens not only learn about animals (or learn more than they knew) they learn more about themselves and find comfort in the animal's companionship while participating in other areas of our programs and workshops. Hours are spent bonding while learning a new way of life. We're in the process of trying to obtain a loan, that could relocate us and assist in establishing the retreat facility that we wish to set examples with. Almost as soon as we relocate, our program agendas will expand to the full capacity we've worked hard to designate. This retreat type program will be offered on a once a week visit basis, a seven day prolonged visit or long term. Hours pass quickly once the youth and the animals settle into routine. This program is recommended for teens in Group homes, Foster Care, or in personal need of calm after an abusive situation.
