Animal Testing Should be Banned... article by hkh "when it comes to animals, actions speaks louder than words - listen" After years of protests, articles, campaigns by movie celebs and websites crammed with horrific pictures of animals strapped down, held in, detained, bent, twisted, disoriented, restrained and all suffering, dying or dead, Animal Testing is not only out there, it is accepted and encouraged - for the sake of saving people's lives. It certainly urks me when I hear someone say "They do medical tests on animals because animals are like people, only this way, people don't have to suffer." The only thing right in that statement is that "animals are like people" - cats alone have something like 138 genes in common with people, maybe more AND we don't do those tests on people, it would be considered inhumane! So then why - if animals are classified to be like people, don't they have the same rights as people and WHY aren't they protected?!! People suffer mostly from man-made diseases!!! Animals didn't create chemicals, smoke stacks, cancer or other, yet they are the ones who suffer from our ignorance. Make-up Companies are amongst the worst but it's Governments that permit the cruelty to excist and it's governments that encourage it "for the sake of people". Contrary to those with blinders on, who "want" to believe that it's o.k because animals don't suffer - hmm, think again. Animals cry, they get really scared, they scream, they panic, they feel pain, they bleed, they fight for life, they get sick, they fall unconcscience and they do die from suffering. They give birth, they nurture, they make decisions, they eat, they drink, they sleep, they extract what they eat or drink, they need to blink their eyes and they need sleep. They make friends, they protect, they sulk, they get mad, they get excited, they smile, they love, they like, they dislike, they despise, they attack, they rejoice, they get anxious and do almost everything we do (emotionally) except it's expressed in a simpler fashion, more like man did in the beginning, because animals are not educated in schools, nor do they live in a monetary world of possessions. What sense does it make to torture a loving, living, breathing, gentle soul for vain or experimental means? Millions and billions of dollars are spent on labs, employees and technology - for the sole purpose of inflicting situations on animals to " see if it hurts" - dah. HURTS being the key word!! There are enough case histories (millions-billions) around the world, concerning every human illness known to mankind, that there is no "real" need to experiment and torture animals. And for all the elite groups, societies and establishments that take the time to get up every morning and call what they do a job, how come when they all get together they don't discuss and take action about "getting their poop in a group and having to communicate internationally - bonding with countries through information of client cases that expand knowledge and save lives"? - not torturing animals for the "sake" of people due to similarities in bodily functions. Animal Testing is WRONG!

"yes - I still eat fish and chicken but very-very rarely, do i wear make-up, it's been voodoo since my teens because cosmetic companies, heavily embark in animal testing for ALL their products AND I mean almost ALL their products. Think About It!"

There are similarities in bodily functions, because animals ARE like people and like people, they need to have the same rights and animal testing should be against the law! Please help make a difference and be a voice - sign the petition to let Governments know that their judgement of action is morally wrong and the request to seek actual information through the international health care chain is the moral way to go about people's health care. To corporate companies and governments, Animals are a cheap way out. They are a way to save money in various senses. 1.) Companies don't have to pay people to test their products. 2.) They certainly won't get sued by the animals if something goes wrong whereas a person would sue and go public. 3.) Animals don't talk and can't get out, so who will ever know what really happens to them? No loss of amenities of life law suits... otherwords what nobody knows - the better and outta sight is outta mind - animals suffer horrific actions 24 hours a day until they die! They certainly don't render tested animals to shelters - god forbid anyone see what they've done to the animals or the after effects of what they've done to these helpless and vulnerable creatures - has created. Just think of all the money the corporate sector saves on those three topics alone, because that's what it all boils down to - is money and not the true value and treasure of life.
